Meet Teresa McDonald
I love learning and personal development. I am the founder of Hola Okanagan (an online business directory and classified add) fitness instructor Insanity Live and Zumba fitness), a Love and Logic facilitator (Parenting classes) and the founder of Mamas Latinas Kelowna and the Parenting Social Club. These groups empower moms in our community – we get together once a month a discuss different topics of interest from parenting, self care, to personal growth.
Tell me in 100 words who you are? How would you describe yourself.
I am from Queretaro, Mexico. I am a mother of 3 amazing teens a wife. I am passionate about personal growth, fitness, healthy eating, and parenting. I love dancing, organizing different events in my community that cover personal growth, parenting, as well as celebrating Latin Culture. I love parties socializing and making new connections.
What is the name of your company?
What motivates/inspires you to get up each morning?
My motivation is God, family, my friends, the thought of being able to contribute serve the people around me and knowing that I can make a difference by adding value and having a positive impact in my community in different ways.
What is your morning/evening routine?
I like to be grateful as soon as I wake up, do some deep breathing exercises, workout, stretch, rebounding, dry brushing and use my chi machine. Evening routine includes at least 10 minutes either listening to or reading about personal development or take a course that helps me grow, stretch and be grateful at the end of each day.
What contribution are you most proud of to date?
I am really proud of the direction of Mamas Latinas Kelowna group and The Parenting Social Club had taken. We get together once a month. These groups are meant to empower moms in our community.
What is it that you feel that you teach others through how you act/show up each day?
I hope that I can share the message that it is important to lead by example and not by words. That being part of a community is important to work together rather than alone, because we can do a lot more when we are together. Finally, that if there is something that you want or would like to see and doesn’t exist “create it.”
What’s one change you would like to see in this world?
I would like to see more empathy and acceptance with one another and not judge others behaviours or beliefs just because of the different rules and belief system that we all have.
